Motorola Mobility Google’s mobile division is all set to release its much awaited Moto X phone on August 1 at an event in Manhattan, New York City.
Moto X will be the first smartphone from Motorola since its acquisition by Google nearly over a year ago for $12.5 Billion. Ever since its acquisition Motorola has been a drag on Google’s profit margins, with Motorola’s quarter losses totaling $342 million. Google is reportedly planning to spend around $500 million to market their flagship device in the US and Europe thereby taking on smartphone giants like Apple and Samsung.
Coming to the specifications, even though nothing has been revealed publicly, according to rumors doing the round the Moto X will have a 1.7 GHz quad core processor along with 2GB RAM. Its also been said to carry a 2.3 GHz Nvidia 4i chip. The Moto X is reportedly having a 10MP rear camera and a 2MP front end camera. Camera is said to support Auto HD recording. Another huge benefit to the users would be the longer battery life provided by a 2200 mAh capacity battery.
The price of the new Moto X is still not clear but we can expect competitive pricing from Google that counters other smartphone makers. Android enthusiasts in India will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on Google’s Moto X.
